On Boing Boing, Cory Doctorow launches five rules to be observed to help the protesters in Iran using Twitter to communicate and exchange information.

1. Do not make your public ip address on Twitter, especially not while using the hashtags # iranelection. Security forces are monitoring the accounts that use quell'hashtag and once identified the ip matching, the block in Iran.

2. Hashtags are the only ones to use and # # iranelection gr88: the other would end up diluting the message flow.

3. Eyes open! The security forces are using the Twitter account to spread false information. Not to circulate information without first having checked with reliable sources. It is not difficult to find reliable sources.

4. Help the Iranian bloggers to hide among other things: change your settings and your time zone as if I wrote from Tehran. Security forces hunt for users by searching according to their position. If we all become "Iranians", find the true Iranians will be far more complicated.

5. Not to blow their cover! If you find a reliable and safe, not to advertise his name or the place from which he writes. These people are in grave danger. Spread the information with discretion, but not so that they can be tracked by the security forces.
